Sinful cinema, you say? Let's have nun of that

After putting the nuns in charge, Sister (Elaine Carlson) is now taking on Hollywood and the slate of summer movies.

"Sunday School Cinema" will feature Chicago's favorite nun riffing on the summer movies and discussing the audience's favorite films as well. Sister's overall impression of film? There's a reason they call it sin-ema.

Sister took a break from her convent duties to discuss America's growing habit with film.

Q. Sister, do you have a name?

A. [Looking around] Do you see another nun in the room, buster? Sister is enough for you.

Late Nite Catechism creator takes new turn with Sunday School Cinema

You can never be too sure about movies these days.

You watch a film and, suddenly, shocking nudity is splashed on the silver screen. Or violence is thrown at you from left field, or there's sex, profanity and gore -- all of which you never suspected by the advertisements for the flick.

That's why we all need to ask Sister to give us her picks for the good, the bad and the ugly in cinema. The ruler-wielding Sister will not disappoint when she give us a thumbs up or down on the films we should or should not see at "Sunday School Cinema," at 3 p.m. Sundays at the Royal George Theatre in Chicago, starting this week.
